A convicted felon was found guilty of four additional felonies. An Imperial County jury took 23 minutes to find Jason Viramontes, 47, guilty of four felony charges. Viramontes now faces the possibility of life in prison as a "Three Strike" offender. On Wednesday, Viramontes was found guilty on charges related to a traffic stop by U.S. Border Parol agents on March 19, 2025. Viramontes was found with a loaded firearm as well as methamphetamine. He had been previously convicted of Voluntary Manslaughter, and Assault in 1999. Viramontes was sent back to prison in 2013 and again in 2017. Three other charges involving drugs and firearms resulted in additional prison time. There are two additional criminal cases pending against Viramontes. He has been held in Imperial County Jail with No Bail authorized. He will be sentenced in late August.
