Yuma Police are investigating an accident that claimed the life of a motorcycle rider.

The collision was reported at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Arab Road. Initial investigation shows that a Honda VTR1000 was northbound on Araby Road when the driver struck the center median. The rider, a 65-year-old man, was transported to Oneida Health and then transferred to a Phoenix area hospital where he later died. Yuma Police are continuing to investigate the accident but did say that neither speed nor alcohol appear to be a factor.
