Imperial County has appointed an Assistant County Executive Officer.

Bari Bean was named to the newly created position through an internal promotion. Bean has been serving as Deputy County Executive Officer for Natural Resources. According to the county's press release, Bean will maintain previous responsibilities while expanding her focus on countywide strategic initiatives, community service, and enhancing county growth. She is expected to continue to lead Lithium Valley efforts for the county. According to County CEO Kathleen Lang, " Bari has constantly taken on complex responsibilities, built strong partnerships, and delivered results across multiple disciplines". The position of Imperial County Assistant Chief Executive  Officer was approved at a recent Board of Supervisors meeting. The salary is $191,000 per year as approved on a 3 - 2 vote of the board.
