Governor Gavin Newsom has issued a Proclamation of a State of Emergency for Imperial County.

According to the official proclamation, The 2025 August Monsoon Storms that produced heavy rain, high winds, and flooding that resulted in power outages throughout the Imperial Valley and caused significant damage to the infrastructure of the Imperial irrigation District, public building and roadways. Approximately 400 transmission power poles and associated infrastructure of the IID were damaged in the storm. The Proclamation opens up assistance from the California Office of Emergency Services and other state assistance.
