A small earthquake was recorded Friday evening.

The magnitude 3.1 shaker was reported at 6:27 p.m. According to the U. S.Geological Survey, the epicenter was 6.6 miles South of Niland. On Thursday morning a series of 4 earthquakes ranging between magnitude 3.1 and 3.6 were recored just south of Brawley. There have been reports of injury or damage.
