The California Highway Patrol is going all out to remove impaired drivers from the state's roads.
A statewide Maximum Enforce Period focused on impaired driving will kick off at 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening and run through 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning. All uniformed CHP personnel statewide, regardless of rank, will conduct traffic enforcement on California's roadways. According to the CHP, weekend nights and early mornings remain among the most dangerous times for impaired-driving crashes. Drivers should plan ahead before heading out by designating a sober driver, arranging a rideshare, using public transportation or staying overnight if they plan to drink alcohol or use impairing substances.
