(# City Council members are being recalled)...Documents have been filed to recall three Calipatria City Council members.

The objects of a recall are Calipatria Mayor Michael Luellen, Mayor Pro-Tem Fred Beltran and Counci member Jesse Rivas. Once the paperwork is filed, the signature gathering process will begin. Organizers will have 60 days to gather 380 signatures from registered voters that are residents of Calipatria. The signatures will have to be verified before the recall is placed on a ballot. Organizers of the recall are reported upset with how the City Manager Laura Gutierrez was treated. The Council fired Gutierrez and then changed their minds and the gave her a new contract.
