A suspect in a Saturday night robbery is in jail.

El Centro Police responded to the report of an armed robbery in the area of 5th and State Streets.The victim told officers that he was held at knifepoint while two suspects took his backpack and other personal items. The suspects fled north on 5th Street. Offices canvassed the area, reviewed surveillance footage and obtained detailed descriptions of the robbers. One of the suspects was located and detained at 4th and Main Streets.The stolen property was recovered. The suspect was arrested and then booked into Imperial County Jail. The investigation is ongoing as officers look to identify and locate the second suspect.
