(Investigating Hospice and Medical fraud)......California Department of Justice says they have been investigating the fraud for some time.
The suspects obtain licenses for Hospices, sign up people for Medical to receive hospice care. The people are from out of state and not aware they have been signed up for Medical to receive hospice care. In fact, no care or treatments are ever delivered. State Attorney General Rob Bonta says they have arrested 5 people and charged 21 for their roles in the hospice scheme that have pilfered $267 million. So far investigators have seized two handguns and $757,000 in cash from raids at 12 locations throughout Southern California. The investigations are continuing.
