(Three Special Fundraisers)....Not only for good causes, but also designed to be fun,

The annual Frankie L. Chavez Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser. It is held Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm at Hinojosa Park in Brawley. The event keeps alive the memory of a young man who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident. The fundraiser raises money for scholarships for local youth. There will be a softball tournament. A Horseshoe Tournament, music and a bunch of family fun. The Imperial County Firefighters Association is partnering with Southwest High School Saturday for a Public Safety Flag Football Tournament. All Proceeds go to the Southwest Eagles football program. It starts at 8 am. Cost is $5 with kids 12 and under free. Southwest Boosters will be manning the concession stand. American Legion Post 801 in Bombay Beach will host a Fish Fry Fundraiser. It will run from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be breaded Cod, French Fries, Cole Slaw, Soft Drinks and Chocolate Cake.. There will be live music, a rummage sale and a car show. Dinner is $20.
