(An interesting weekend coming up)....There will be something for everyone.

On Saturday Westmorland will host the 20th annual Honey Festival. It starts at 8 am and will feature different contests, a spelling Bee, essay contest and more. There will be Honey tasting and a 5k Honey Run. Also on Saturday will be the Salton Sea Bird Festival at the Sonny Bono Salton Sea NWR at 906 West Sinclair Road in Calipatria. Visit the Refuge for Bird walks, talks, sunset viewing and photography classes. On Sunday the Imperial Valley Desert Museum will Volunteer Day from 11 am to 3 pm. You must be 16 and older. Monday is the 2026 Martin Luther King Day Holiday Celebration. The Freedom Walk Begins at the MLK Jr. Sports Pavilion starting at 11:30 am. The walk ends at the County Courthouse on Main Street in El Centro. The annual reenactment of I Have A Dream will be held on the Courthouse steps at 12 noon
