(Esly Ortiz delivered the first baby of the new year)...She deserves all the accolades she can get.

Esly went through 17 hours of labor, before finally delivering her 6 pound 11 ounce baby girl at 3:36 New Years morning at Pioneers Hospital in Brawley. Esly said it was the longest 17 hours of her life.. Christopher Moreno, the new father, said they named the baby Itzan, which is Mayan for Strong. Itzan is Esly and Christophers first child, and Imperial Counties first baby of 2026. Itzan was born healthy and with a full head of hair.
