(Imperial County Planning Commission met Thursday).....On their agenda was a request for a lot merger.

The ten member Commission was asked to merge or consolidate five individual parcels into a single approximately 75.39 acre site located at 2304 Clarke Road. It was not to approve or even discuss a proposed Data Center. The request was also for the Commission to find the lot merger categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act. The requests were denied. The vote was 5 yes, 2 no, and 3 members absent. Commission guidelines say issues need  6 affirmative votes to be approved. The issues will now go to the Board of Supervisors on appeal. The County Supervisors will schedule a Public Hearing.
